Events

Since its creation, NAAAP Atlanta has organized several events for its members and sponsors to actively combine efforts for the city of Atlanta but also to empower young adults connecting with our communities and partners.

Here we list some of the events that are normally promoted by NAAAP Atlanta:

Community events

The Community Relations Committee builds mutually beneficial relationships with other Asian American organizations and community leaders and provides resources to promote awareness of the many issues that face local communities today.

Our coalition of individuals and other Asian- American organizations aim to strengthen our communities by developing programs which educate others and support their needs. Opportunities include: outreach programs, volunteer work, and fundraising events such as NAAAP Atlanta’s signature event, Chopstix for Charity. The events are open to all who want to contribute to improving the Atlanta community, whether through direct action or in cultural education.

Atlanta Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival

The sport of dragon boat racing dates back 2,000 years. Since 1976, when Hong Kong introduced the world’s first international races, dragon boat racing has grown in popularity, with clubs and associations forming in countries throughout Asia, Europe and North America and competitions taking place in cities around the world.

The Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival is one of the largest in the Southeast, showcasing over 70 teams and drawing more than 5,000 participants and spectators. The all-day event includes boat races, cultural performances, and Asian foods.

Networking

This team of dedicated volunteers provides avenues where members, potential members, and corporate sponsors can casually network with others.

Networking events include our signature monthly NAAAP Networking Nights (N3),
Movie Mania, Sports Outing, Power Lunches, and Development Dinners, just to name a few. These events, held at informal settings, give members an opportunity to connect
and network with old friends and other professionals.
